Eye Associates Opticians has for twenty years provided quality optical services commensurate with the standards of THE EYE INSTITUTE. Our staff comprises three Board Certified Opticians who work with the most advanced equipment available to manufacture eyeglasses on the premises.

We carry a full line of frames including those from the best designers. Our choices include titanium for lightness and strength, stainless steel, rimless, semi-rimless and children's. Sunglasses and sports goggles are available.

Some of the specialty lenses that you may consider are detailed below:

Varilux - Varilux progressive lenses let you experience complete visual freedom with just one pair of glasses. Clarity in all fields of vision: near, far and everything in between, aesthetically pleasing, no visual lines, smooth transition between vision fields with no visual interruptions. We use these lenses exclusively because of their superiority.

Transitions - Virtually clear indoors, dark outdoor tint, variable tint changes as the light changes for versatility and visual comfort, fits all frame styles, available in a wide range of prescriptions, lightweight plastic with built-in scratch protection, 100% UV protection. (Transitions is a registered trademark of Transitions Optical, Inc.)

Crizal - Crizal AR lenses are a clear improvement over glare. For Work - Long hours in front of a computer screen and harsh fluorescent lighting can really make for tired eyes. In clinical studies, Crizal lenses were proven to dramatically reduce eye fatigue caused by the light reflections that create glare.

For Night Driving - With ordinary lenses, headlights from other vehicles and streetlights create distracting double images that can wear on your eyes. Clinical studies show that Crizal lenses reduce the glare caused by bright oncoming headlights. So they not only help you feel better, they can also help provide a safer drive.

For Good Looks - Another great advantage to wearing Crizal lenses in the way they make you look. People can clearly see your eyes, without all the reflections. And the better you look, the better you feel. Cleaning - Fingerprints and smudges have been a challenge for previous AR lenses. But not for Crizal. This unique, advanced technology makes cleaning a breeze. (Varilux and Crizal are registered trademarks of Essilor International, S.A.)

Lens Menu - Thinner, flatter lenses are recommended when a prescription is either "high-minus," meaning lenses are thicker at the outer edges, or "high-plus," when lenses are thicker in the middle. Flatter lenses enhance lens appearance by reducing edge or center thickness. They are lighter weight and can provide edge-to-edge visual clarity by utilizing an aspheric or atoric design. Sports lenses come in many designs, colors, and treatments for every sport. Safety is the key with sports eyewear, so tough high impact resistant lenses are most commonly recommended. Polarized lenses are the top pick for eliminating glare. Hunters, boaters and fishermen, golfers and drivers are a few who benefit from polarized lens' glare-cutting properties. Any surface can create glare in sunlight, including water, sand, snow, windows, vehicles, and buildings. Polarization eases eye stress and fatigue in the sun, and comes in several color and density options. UV protection lens treatment - the sun's ultraviolet rays pose potential harm to your eyes. UV protection on lenses accomplishes the same thing as sunscreen lotion on your skin - it shields your eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays. Plastic and glass lenses may require UV coating, while high-index and high impact resistant lenses provide UV protection inherently in the lens material.

Our highly qualified team of licensed opticians will be happy to explain and demonstrate lens materials, designs and treatments that are most appropriate to your lifestyle and needs.
