Ken E. Mishler, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a prominent Ophthalmologist in northern New Jersey. For many years, he served as Chairman of the Credentials Committee and Chairman of the Ophthalmology Department at Chilton Memorial Hospital.

Having recently discontinued performing cataract surgery, Dr. Mishler is now able to focus his energy and expertise on his office practice.
In addition to doing routine eye examinations, Dr. Mishler’s practice specializes in cataract and glaucoma patients. He performs several types of laser treatments. Glaucoma laser procedures are conveniently available within the office.

Dr. Mishler helps patients with cataracts, both tracking the progress of the cataract to determine an appropriate time for a surgical procedure, and following patients post-operatively. When necessary, he performs laser treatment of so-called “after-cataracts”

Furthermore, Dr. Mishler has a large glaucoma practice, treating patients with either medication (drops) and/or SLT laser treatment. In addition, Dr. Mishler continues to do other laser procedures that are necessary for the treatment of narrow angle glaucoma.

As always, Dr. Mishler is available to see people who need routine examinations. He has a large contact lens practice, and enjoys fitting new contact lens patients as well as refitting current contact lens wearers who are dissatisfied with their present lenses.

Dr. Mishler welcomes new patients to his practice, and offers early morning as well as evening appointments.

He is a graduate of the University of Rochester and received his M.D. degree from Emory Medical School in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Mishler served in the U.S. Public Health Service where he did his Residency. He also trained at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston and the Armed Forces Institutes of Pathology in Washington, D.C.. He did a Fellowship sub-specializing in the cornea at Ohio State University.

After his corneal training, Dr. Mishler continued at the United States Public Health Service in a teaching capacity, training residents in treatment of corneal diseases and corneal transplantation techniques. He has published numerous papers in ophthalmology about corneal diseases and in other areas including ocular trauma.

Dr. Mishler is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the following organizations:
